How a Residential Service Call Works

No mystery. No runaround. Here's exactly what to expect when you call us.

1

You Call, We Answer

Call (713) 962-2797. A real person — often Aaron himself — picks up. Describe what you're seeing and we'll give you an honest read on urgency and next steps. No voicemail purgatory.

2

We Schedule at Your Convenience

We work around your schedule, not ours. Mon–Fri 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM. We give you a specific arrival window — not a 6-hour "sometime today" range — and we honor it.

3

We Diagnose — Then Explain

When we arrive, we assess the problem thoroughly. Then we explain what's wrong, what caused it, and what fixing it actually involves. In plain English. Before we ask you to approve anything.

4

You Approve the Price, Then We Work

We give you a clear price before any work begins. No surprises on the bill. The number we quote is the number you pay — unless the scope changes and you agree to it first.

5

We Fix It Right and Clean Up

We complete the work correctly and to code. We clean up after ourselves. And if anything about the repair ever needs attention — we're still reachable. We don't disappear after we get paid.

Residential Electrical Work —
All of It

From the simple service call to the full rewire — if it's electrical and it's in your home, we handle it.

Breaker & Panel Issues

Breaker trips and won't reset, hums, or feels warm to the touch. Tripping breakers can be a simple overload or a warning sign — we diagnose correctly so you're not guessing.

Outlet & Switch Repair

Outlet stopped working, sparks when you plug something in, or a switch does nothing. We find the cause — not just swap the fixture — so the problem actually gets solved.

Flickering & Dimming Lights

Lights that flicker, dim, or buzz can signal a loose connection, overloaded circuit, or failing fixture. Sometimes it's simple. Sometimes it points to something bigger. We find out which.

GFCI Outlet Issues

GFCI outlets in bathrooms, kitchens, and outdoors that trip constantly or won't reset. We replace, repair, and test GFCI circuits to ensure they're actually protecting you.

Adding Circuits & Outlets

Need an outlet where there isn't one? Running out of circuits in a room? We add new circuits and outlets properly — not with extension cords running through walls.

Outdoor & Garage Wiring

Outdoor outlets, porch lighting, garage circuits, security lighting. Houston weather is hard on outdoor electrical — we repair, replace, and weatherproof correctly.

Ceiling Fan Installation

Ceiling fan installation, replacement, and wiring. Including situations where there's no existing ceiling box or wiring — we run the circuit properly from the start.

Home Rewiring

Older Houston homes with aluminum wiring, knob-and-tube, or outdated systems. We assess what's there honestly and explain what code requires. We'll tell you which situation you're in.

Something Else?

Don't see your problem here? Call and describe it. We'll tell you if we can help and what's involved — no commitment required.

In Business Since 1998. One Name on the License.
One Number to Call.

Aaron McAlexander founded this company in 1998 and is still the person you reach when you call. That kind of accountability is rare in this industry. It's what we offer.

These Are Not
"Wait and See" Problems

Some residential electrical issues are inconveniences. Others are fire or shock hazards that need to be addressed now — not eventually.

If you're seeing any of these, call us today. We'll give you a straight answer on urgency.

Call (713) 962-2797
Burning smell from panel or outlet Electrical fires start inside walls. A burning smell means something is already overheating.
Sparks when plugging something in Occasional brief sparks can be normal. Consistent or large sparks are not.
Hot outlets, switches, or faceplates Electrical components shouldn't be warm to the touch. Heat means something is wrong inside.
Lights that dim when appliances start Can indicate undersized wiring or a panel that can't handle current load — both are fixable but need attention.
Buzzing or crackling sounds Audible electrical noise usually means loose connections or arcing. Either can cause fires.

Houston Homeowners Who've Been Through It

4.9 stars across hundreds of reviews. These are a few of the residential calls we've gotten right.

"My kitchen outlet sparked when I plugged in the coffee maker. Called Aaron-Carter, they came out the same day and traced it to a loose wire in the wall — not the outlet at all. Fixed it, explained exactly what happened, reasonable price. This is who I call now."

R. Martinez
Houston, TX · Outlet Repair

"Half my house went dark after a storm. Two other electricians couldn't figure it out and one wanted to replace the whole panel. Aaron came out, found a damaged breaker in 20 minutes, and had everything working within the hour. Way less expensive than I feared."

D. Johnson
Conroe, TX · Breaker Repair

"Lights in our master bedroom would flicker randomly. We'd had it checked twice before with no resolution. Aaron-Carter found a loose neutral in the junction box — something the other guys missed entirely. The problem is gone and we finally sleep soundly."

Questions About Residential Service Calls

Straight answers about what to expect.

How do I know if my electrical problem is urgent or can wait?

Call us and describe it. Burning smells, sparking outlets, warm switch plates, or a breaker that trips and won't reset are the main signs you shouldn't wait. Flickering lights, a single dead outlet, or a breaker that tripped once after an overload are usually less urgent — but still worth getting looked at. We'll give you an honest read when you call.

Do you give a price before starting work?

Yes, always. We diagnose the problem, explain what's involved, and give you a clear price before any work begins. The number we quote is the number you pay — unless the scope changes and you approve the change first. No surprises.

What are your service call hours?

Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. If you're dealing with something urgent outside those hours, call us anyway at (713) 962-2797 — we'll do our best to help.

A breaker tripped and won't reset — should I try to force it?

No. If a breaker trips and won't reset, or immediately trips again after you reset it, don't force it. It's doing its job by preventing a potentially dangerous situation. Turn off any devices on that circuit and call us. Forcing a breaker that keeps tripping can mask a serious problem.

Can you add an outlet where there isn't one?

Yes. We run new circuits and add outlets to any room. This involves accessing your panel, running wire through walls or attic, and installing properly — not surface-mounted conduit unless that's what you want. We do it to code, including pulling permits when required.

My house was built in the 1970s — should I be worried about the wiring?

Older homes can have aluminum wiring or knob-and-tube wiring, both of which have specific risks and require careful handling. We assess what's there honestly and explain what code requires and what the realistic risks are. Not every old house needs a full rewire — but some do. We'll tell you which situation you're in.

Do you do the work yourself or send a crew?

Aaron McAlexander is the licensed contractor who oversees every job. On service calls, he is often the one on the job himself. On larger jobs, work is performed by his own team under his direct supervision — not subcontracted to people we've never met. You get the same standard of care regardless of job size.
